Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
Sweet Copper lost his family when they had to enter a nursing home and he couldn't go too. He is very friendly, housetrained, good with other dogs and with older kids. Please consider helping him get back into a home and out of the shelter. Copper takes treats very easily when they are offered to him, and he looks forward to the volunteers coming to visit every day. He presses his head up against his kennel gate so he can be the first one to see someone coming his way. What a joyous, happy boy he is becoming! He had some real problems with his skin when he first came into our care, most likely from poor nutrition and lack of cleanliness, but is certainly looking much better now! He's put on a few pounds, and his coat is beginning to fill in, where before there were just bare patches of skin showing through. The sores on his ears from his scratching them are also disappearing, and his red muzzle is becoming less brilliant. All in all, he's making a lovely transformation! He's also trying so hard to be housetrained, and has made good progress. It's always hard on the older dogs if they don't know the schedule of the volunteers, but he is sure trying! Have you decided to give him a chance now?
