02/01/2020 I have had Memphis at my house for 6 months. It is just recent that I have decided that I'd be willing to adopt him out. That is due to how protective he is. He absolutely loves my daughter, my husband, and myself. He knows my son is afraid of him, so he bares his teeth and growls at him. With that being said he doesn't actively seek out hurting my son (18 years old, 6'2"). My son can tell him to get in his crate, and Memphis will get in his crate and allow him to close the door. He can also open the back door to let him out and Memphis will run out (and back in) the door with out any issues. He requires an adopter that is experienced with Aussie behavior issues and is comfortable with management. If you're still reading, you now get to hear how wonderful he is. He is SO loving! He is happiest when he's with "his" person. Here thinks he's a lap dog. He loves car rides, McDonald's, snuggles, and basking in the sun watching over "his" property. He is crate and house trained. He came to me with a canine sister and has done well with some of my fosters, but he has NO use for my dogs. He wouldn't mind being an only dog. He will kill cats, but does currently live in a home with 10 dog savvy cats that just stay out of his yard when he's out there. If you want a loyal, goofball as your companion, apply for Memphis? 08/31/2020

Memphis was a recent owner-give-up when his family moved from our area to the NE United Stares. We are still assessing his medical needs, as well as his best placement possibilities. It’s tough on an older dog to Be uprooted from a stable home, so we are not rushing into a placement. However, if you love seniors, and Aussies, and don’t mind possible behavior issues that will require management and not much socialization with other dogs, we invite you to complete an application and we will be happy to contact you. No homes with invisible fences will be considered; quiet homes are high priority. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, and find the application under the Animals heading.
