Miss Kitty, formerly known as Dove, is available for adoption at Petsmart in Lynchburg. She was adopted two years ago from there, and through a frustrating series of events is available again.

In breach of our adoption contract which requires contact with FOAC when someone wants to return a pet, Miss Kitty was surrendered—signed over— to an already-full open-admission shelter in Wake County, NC. Because Miss Kitty was microchipped, Wake County Animal Services was able to contact us to let us know she was there. Like all shelters, if a cat can be reclaimed, it’s important to do that not only for her life but for the lives of the other cats in that same facility. We were fortunate that a former volunteer who had recently moved to NC offered to stop at Wake County AC to pick up Miss Kitty and bring her to Campbell County on Saturday. It was a lifesaver for all of us! Huge thanks to Susan and Mike for taking the time and helping us out to get Miss Kitty to safety. Working with the animal care facility in Wake County was a pleasure; they were professional and kind, and were genuinely pleasant and helpful. Best of all, Miss Kitty was updated with vaccines while she was there, and was immediately available to take to Petsmart here for adoption. Please stop in and visit her when you are searching for an armful of fur love! Adoption fee $60.
