Buckeye, 2-1/2 years old, has learned to walk on leash, to take treats nicely from volunteers, and to enjoy regular meal times and play time. The volunteers enjoy his enthusiasm and zest for life! We don't know that he had toys to play with, but he has also discovered that toys = fun! Buckeye has pretty much taught himself to be housetrained, and will "hold it" for hours waiting for a volunteer to come and get him out. He has great potential for learning! We are working hard to help him find the home of his dreams. He will play nicely with other dogs as long as they stay out of his face, and let him do his exploring, sniffing, and potty time. He would dearly love to be indoor-outdoor, with a doggy door and a fenced yard, so he can rest up in between his times out and about. He has learned patience with the volunteers when they need to take a break and stop to chat with someone else.
