Sweet Whitney was found helplessly laying in the road after she was hit by a car, and left to die. A well-meaning Good Samaritan took her to a local animal hospital, but then left her for several days without notifying officials where she was. Once it was discovered that she had been abandoned at the vet, we stepped in to give her some much-needed assistance. Transferred to FOAC's care, she has been boarding at a vet facility, where she is being treated with cage rest, antibiotics, and pain meds while she heals without surgery. Eight weeks of enforced rest is not going to be easy for her, but she is handling confinement well. She is excellent with humans; she is housetrained; she appears to be non-reactive with dogs. Her spirits are good! However, we can't have her staying at a vet office forever, and are anxious now to find her a foster home where she can heal and be loved at the same time. If you are looking for a loving, sweet companion, and are willing to handle the medical part of this healing, which is basically rest, meds, and limited leash walking, then please invite Whitney into your heart and your home. She needs you!Under two years old, and will lick you to death out of gratitude! Please email Barbe at FOACinfo@gmail.com to find out more!
