Havanese / Mixed (long coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Small Learn more about the Havanese.
Rescuers have a special place in their hearts for certain breeds, or types, or just plain neediness when it comes to helping dogs and cats. We know there is a special person out there who would love to take on the challenge of SHERLOCK, a "reformed" puppy mill Havanese who needs a new home. He is about five years old, neutered and definitely quirky. He absolutely does not like children! You need to know that upfront and not think you can rehabilitate him. We will not make him suffer through the trauma of trying to adapt to children at his new home. He is super good with other dogs, a trait we often see in puppy mill survivors. He is okay with cats. He likes to go for walks but doesn't enjoy human company much other than that. He is housetrained, too. His foster mom describes him as "mellow." Our experience with such personality types from this background has given us a pretty good idea of an ideal home for him: Single mom, or retired couple; fenced yard, another dog to be the leader so he can follow; no children, and very little travel involved in day to day life for the dog (He throws up in the car.) Do these traits apply to you? We hope to see an application from you, at www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org
Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
